MODULE TWO Chapter 3

The Tyvek worked well, being stronger than I had anticipated and has possibilities as it does'nt fray.  It was transfer printed and ironed between sheets of newspaper as I have found it does'nt take well to an iron ( Module One Ch 1).
Vermicelli is doodling but Granite stitch is far more intense.

The open toed foot I usually work with kept catching the looser threads so I changed to a closed version.

This chapter has enabled me to use some of the quilting fabrics I have collected because I liked them but did'nt have a purpose in mind.

MODULE TWO Chapter 2

My card   block disintegrated at this point!!  I made a more durable version with two layers cut from a polystyrene plate, topped with fun foam and then the design.  The whole thing was held together with double-sided cellotape.

Navy cotton with background printed with green using a textured yarn wrapped around a foam roller.  The block print in orange/yellow has the block inverted for alternate prints.

Pink cotton with a sponge printed background using a russet and metallic copper mix.  The green block print has the block rotated by a quarter turn for each print.  This was overprinted with copper.

Black felt screen printed with sky blue but this was not successful, the blue being too thin to "sit" on the felt.  The block print uses ulttamarine mixed with white and overprinted  with silver.  I am quite pleased with the effect createds by the stitching.

I really enjoyed the print and stitch exercises.

MODULE TWO Chapter 1

Many of the photos were taken in my garden, but we live close to Ness Gardens, where my husband is a volunteer, so I have easy access.  They have so many more plants!

The fuschia drawings are a bit strange, but I am drawing plants in December.

The Poppy turned out better than I expected, although there is room for improvement.

I worked the images using a frame and found I had more control.

I'm really pleased at the result below!

The rose on the left is not as I drew it but I think it a better shape

The bottom part worked well but the top rather lost the plot.  I worked this without a hoop and I think I am getting more ccontrol, at last!
