MODULE TWO Chapter 6

              The stitching on the left (above) looks like a child's drawing of a face!

Working with the glue and tissue to create  an image was really difficult and a variety of combinations of glue and water didn't solve the problem.  Perhaps the tissue was too thin and dress pattern tisssue would have worked bettter.  I did manage to achieve some texture  and it looked much better when painted.  Creating the texture with the top pieces  sewn onto the background was mich easier.

                                       The piece didn't scan well so I have used photographs.

Close-up of the top.  The picture was taken with the tassel on the table so the top looks a little mis-shapen.

 The skirt was stitched using cable stitch and a medium wide zig-zag although the hanging loop was stitched with the same star pattern as the top.

MODULE TWO Chapter 4

I love this Chapter.  It gave me the excuse to buy lots of the hand embroidery threads I like.

I use a lot of threads from Stef Francis but my machine doesn't seem to like anything rough or fluffy in the bobbin, but they are great for couching!

 Page 6. The variagated thread used on top gives an interesting effect with the pale apricot Perle yarn in the bobbin.

I am pleased with the background fabrics, although they were not as planned. 
Some of the Moss stiching below is hit and miss!
