A larger piece using overlapping sticky circles from a sheet of DVD labels. they were sprayed with Brusho ink, rearranged and resprayed again.
Fabric made with torn masking tape on black cotton and coloured with Pental Paintsticksthe black shapes were stiched to give a feathery effect.
A piece of white cotton was sprayed through with walnut ink through a piece of embroidry canvas. This gave a Gingham look to the fabric. Sticky paper strips were applied in a random birds nest pattern and the piece was sprayed again through the canvas using Brusho Burnt Sienna. random egg shapes were machined over the piece.
White fabric was lightly sprayed with Brusho Turquoise. Hot wax was dribbled onto this. Egg shapes were drawn with a candle and sprayed yellow but these didn't show when the wax was removed so egg shapes were cut from sticky backed plastic, applied and resprayed with Rose Pink. Small circles of turquoise stitching added.
This piece was a little too big to fit on the scanner so a photo is included
Bird shapes from Chapter 2 were cut out in sticky backed plastic. one set was stick onto white cotton and spraed yellow. Tthe second shape was added and sprayed turquoise. Bird cages from research were stitched over the white birds.
Bird houses from research were cut in sticky backed plastic, arranged and sprayed. they wre rearranged, more shapes added and resprayed with a different colour. this was repeated but I misssed one of the shapes, which remained white! This was outlined with I really like the colours the Brusho spray istitching, as were the other dominant shapes.nks give!
Colour discharge using bleach
on a selection of papers. I like the effect on the green Khadi paper and the blue below right.
On fabrics. there were interesting effects on red cotton and brown felt (top row) and the Hessian and red embroidery canvas on the bottom row.
Bird print on the blue paper, above and feathers and feet on Khadi papers. It is interestin g to see what the colour is achieved with the bleach.
Bird prints on the red and brown cotton. the red gives a great pink, the brown a mustard yellow.
Colour discharge using declourant
Sponged onto paper
marks made with a cotton bud
using a stencil from Module 2
A doyle as a resist on black paper. The remaining area was also treated to emphasise the pattern.
Bird prints on blue and green cotton.
Feather prints on cotton cloloured with Brusho sprays (above) and on a multi-coloured cotton (below). This has resulted in lilac shapes on the dark areas and very pale lilac on lighter cloured sections.
